Manchester Carers Forum and Talbot House help unpaid carers. Talbot house work with the parents of children and adults with learning disabilities. Manchester Carers Forum works with all carers.
Both charities are led by unpaid carers so we really know how it feels to be a carer. We know that caring for a loved one can be a highly rewarding experience, but it can also be very lonely and feel like a rollercoaster ride. Feelings of failure, anger, constant worry and the sense that you are alone are common. Knowing that someone cares is a lifeline.
Through our support groups, training, mentoring and fun activities along with our role as advocates who stand up for carer's rights we can be that lifeline.
Here's what are users say
“Thank-you for your care and concern for the families of people with dementia. Its great work that you do, and we are very blessed by the Manchester Carers Forum”.
'Talbot House showed me there is more to life then being lost, isolated and that I am not alone'
Thank you it was like being handed a map
Bottom line we save lives! Help us to keep doing that
