Growing from its foundations as the ironmongery and hardware trades benevolent society in 1843, Rainy Day Trust now provides support to a modern workforce.
Beneficiaries may work in DIY retail, manufacture, distribution or as tradespeople within the home improvement and enchancement industries. Rainy Day Trust awards grants, financial, legal, and other flexible support to individuals (and families) working in these jobs, when needed.
In these days of austerity and high living costs, Rainy Day Trust makes a very practical difference to working people struggling to make ends meet for whatever reason. Recent outcomes of our support have included preventing a family eviction and giving grants to apprentices struggling to complete their studies.
Through our advice and counselling services we are also able to help with mental health problems and worklessness.
