Cyclists Fighting Cancer was founded in 2005 and provides a unique and highly effective way of helping kids with cancer through activity and exercise.
Approximately 2,400 children and young people (up to and including the age of 18) are diagnosed with cancer each year in the UK and we are passionate about helping all these families along this difficult journey. By playing our lottery you can help us reach more children and get them pedalling on the road to recovery!
The effects of cancer and its associated treatments are numerous; amputations, balance issues, physical weakness, coordination difficulties, concerns over body image, lack of self-esteem and confidence are just some of the most common side effects. Enabling a child to ride a lightweight bike or specially adapted trike helps to address these issues in a fun, sociable and child friendly form. It improves physical fitness without the children realising they are exercising, helps to get them active outside reducing stress and anxiety, and it helps with social re-engagement and rebuilds positive relationships with friends and peers. It is fun quality time with family members and an opportunity to build happy memories.
Playing our weekly lottery is an exciting way to support our work. We help around 600 families a year and with your help we can reach even more, and you’ll be in with a chance of winning a fantastic prize too!
